Marbled Ceramic Ball on Tripod Base with Rattle Inside

$40.00

This ball was thrown on the wheel with recycled colored clay, which gives it a marbled effect with mostly grey and white stripes but also some streaks of brighter colors. It was carved so you can see through the ball . There is a little ball of clay inside the ball which rattle when you shake it around. It is unglazed. The tripod base was glazed with a blue glaze (but I also have white ones if you’d prefer) . Both pieces were fired at cone 10 (over 2300 degrees F or 1200 degrees C). The ball is 4x4 inches. The base is also 4 inches wide from one tip to the other. The ball is resting on the base but is not attached to it and you can separate them. They’re sold together . I think it’s quite intriguing to look at and -even better- it’s a sculpture you can play with.
