Three-Piece Carved Interactive Nesting Porcelain Sculpture in Contrasting Colors
This three-piece sculpture was thrown on the wheel then carved and covered with contrasting colored slip (liquid clay) that was scraped off to outline the carving. It is quite intriguing to look at and would make an interesting focal point on a desk or sideboard. You can turn the inside sculptures in different ways and get a different effect. You can stack and unstack them. All pieces were glazed with a clear glaze and fired at cone 10 (over 2300 degrees F or 1200 degrees C). The smallest one is about 3X3X3 inches and weighs 6.3 oz, the medium one is 4X4X4 inches and weighs 13.3 oz and and the bigger one is 5 (H)X 5.5X 5.5 inches and weighs 1lb13oz.
I love the fact that they look like very different sculptures when they’re stacked and unstacked and that you can play with them They would look good in front of your house on the path to the door, or on a sideboard/coffee table inside.
