"Blue Cabbage" Monster Egg Sculpture
This strange sculpture was thrown on the wheel with porcelain then blue marbled colored clay was attached and folded around the piece, with different shades from top to bottom. The “frilly” part is unglazed but the body of the sculpture is glazed with a clear glaze. It was fired at cone 10 (over 2300 degrees F or 1200 degrees C). It is 3.5 (H)x 4.5 (W/D) inches. It is sold with the base (also made out of porcelain), but it’s perfectly stable without it. It is part of my Monster Egg series because this blue cabbage has definitely some monster vibes to it.
